Past writing achievements.
In 1968, I won a £1 premium bond for a poem. Skip that.
In 2013, I had an honourable mention in a Writers of the Future competition.
Then, in 2021, came The Slumpton Rats fiasco with Austin Macauley. That will shortly be reissued.
The full published list is:
The Slumpton Rats (to be reissued);
One More World to Visit;
State;
Guardians;
Oddbot;
Ellie and the Nubb Lane Players;
Barney and Son;
The Messenger.
To come shortly, I hope (currently with my formatter): The Treasure of Kurukhstan: An Ellen Charteris Investigation.
Soon, I hope: Mole and Frog, an illustrated book for young children. To be sent to my formatter.
To be followed, when illustrations have been done, by Oak Wood, for young children.
Laika: a very short story for children, waiting for drawings by Melanie Bateman.
Works in Progress:
Charity Shields Investigates;
Spirits;
Mirn, which is a large fantasy.
I have some short stories, which have been doing nothing for a long time.
I live in Dartmouth, Devon, in a small annex attached to the house of my middle son and his wife. I walk in the woods, and I swim in the sea and in local swimming pools. I write poems and songs and play the guitar. I drive when family members need me to do it. I prefer dogs to people.
